Let me introduce myself. My name is Ineke. I am
a fan of Siamese and Orientals since 1983.I am
already married for 37 years with Wim de Groot
and we are the proud parents of two adult daughters.
In 1982 our Boxer
dog passed away and we would love to have
another pet. This time not a dog, but a cat. A
friend of my husband owned a lovely Seal Point
Siamese and I would love to have such a cat. I
visited several breeders and ended up at a
small family in Amsterdam. They owned a brown
cat, so I decided my new pet to be a brown male
(OSH chocolate) ,because my husband didn't want a
female. And then a name...We live in Den-Helder
and that is the base of the Dutch navy. O the
ships worked a lot of Indonesians . When they
asked for a cup of chocolatmilk they asked for a
"Purut". (means chocolatmilk) I did not
know at that time how to spell it so we gave
the name Poeroeth to our new OSH chocolate boy. After 3 years judge Yvonne Craane gave me a
sweet cinnamon Tabby spotted OSH girl. I decided
to breed a litter with her but then ofcourse I
needed a cattery name and we choose the name
Poeroeths Home. Poeroeth passed away a long time
ago, but his name will stay with us always and
all our kittens will carry his name.
Together with my
youngest daughter we breed OSH and Siamese Cats
and now and then we attend cat shows. We prefer
to be active on cat shows together with my entire
family. We became member of Neocat. In this
organization I am board member and coordinator
of the Neocat shows. My husband has the catering
, my oldest daughter is assistant security and
my youngest daughter assists in the Secretariat and catering .
We hope to stay active many years to come,
in our cat club Neocat...
